How do I know if my child is eligible for Varsity Tutors?

Varsity Tutors for Schools programs are sponsored by individual school districts, so eligibility and the specific services included depend entirely on your district's current agreement with Varsity Tutors. Depending on your district's program, your student may have access to one or more of the following:

  • Live 1:1 Tutoring — personalized sessions with a dedicated, live human tutor on a recurring schedule.
  • Nerdy Tutoring — on-demand, AI-supported tutoring for quick help and instant academic support outside of scheduled sessions.
  • Platform Access — self-guided tools like practice problems, assessments, and learning resources, without live or on-demand tutor support.

Because agreements vary by district and can change over time, we're not able to confirm which of these your student has access to without looking up your student's specific program information.

How to find out:

  1. Complete the registration form with your student's information and subject preferences. This is the direct way to check eligibility for Live 1:1 Tutoring specifically.
  2. Once submitted, our team will verify your student's eligibility and which program services apply.
  3. If your student is eligible, you'll receive next steps to set up your parent account and get started.
  4. If your student is not eligible for the requested service, we'll follow up with you directly to explain why and share any alternative options available.

A few things to know:

  • Being contacted by Varsity Tutors, or finding this chatbot on our site, does not guarantee your student is eligible for any specific service.
  • Program inclusions can differ by district and may change from year to year.
  • If you're unsure what your school district currently provides, registering is the fastest way to find out — there's no cost or obligation to register.
