Can We Change Tutors or Scheduling?
Yes! Reach out to support if you need to adjust your tutor or availability. Or, reach out to your tutor directly via your Parent Portal to make changes to your existing schedule.
Is This the Same as Chat Tutoring?
No. Parent-Assigned (PA) tutoring is scheduled in advance and led by a live instructor. In contrast, Instant Chat Tutoring offers on-demand, real-time help with a live instructor and is available in select Platform Access programs. AI Chat Tutoring provides instant, unlimited, and automated support, and is included with all Platform Access programs. All PA tutoring programs include access to AI Chat Tutoring, and some may also include Instant Chat Tutoring depending on the district’s configuration.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. How can my student log in to Varsity Tutors?
Students and families have two ways to access their Varsity Tutors accounts:
- Student Account – This account is typically accessed via Single Sign-On (SSO) using the student’s school portal (e.g., Clever or Classlink), if supported by the district. If the district does not utilize SSO, students can log in through the Varsity Tutors website using their school email and a password provided during onboarding. The Student Account allows students to join scheduled sessions but has limited functionality—they cannot modify their schedule or message tutors directly.
- Parent Account – Parents or guardians can log in via the Varsity Tutors website using their personal email address. This account provides full functionality, including the ability to schedule sessions, communicate with tutors, and join all tutoring sessions.
Students log in via their school portal or the Varsity Tutors website.
2. Can students submit essays for review?
Yes. Students can upload essays, reports and more for expert feedback. See See a walkthrough video on How to Submit an Essay for Review here.
